What is a turbocharger, and why does it break down?

A turbocharger is a complex and delicate component of the combustion engine, the task of which is to increase the power of the engine by providing a greater amount of air in the fuel combustion process.

A turbocharger consists of a turbine and compressor mounted on a common shaft.  The turbine is powered by the exhaust gases from the engine and the  compressed air from the compressor is fed to the engine. Larger amount of air is fed to the cylinder which increases the engine's power output;  higher is also the degree of compression thus increasing the efficiency. Turbine components are rotating at speeds up to 200,000 rpm and at a temperature of about 900 deg. C !!!

As we mentioned, this is a delicate component and we list below the most frequent causes of failure:

1. Lack of proper lubrication of turbine caused by inadequate oil pressure or its insufficient quantity.
2. Aspiration of a foreign body into the turbocharger mechanism, such as particles from an air filter or dirt present in the oil.
3. Improper use, such as too quick shutdown off the engine after dynamic or long driving.
4. Overheating - caused by excessive exhaust temperature .

Reconditioning

Reconditioning of a turbocharger the way we do it is a complex process that requires, apart from expertise, specialized devices and top quality spare parts.

Respecting our customers, we do our work thoroughly and we do not allow sending to our customers a turbine that was not tested to the highest standards.

Stages of reconditioning:

1. The disassembly of the broken turbocharger into individual parts
2. Thorough washing and sandblasting the parts that can be re-used licenses, such as the body
3. Replacing worn parts with new ones of the highest quality
4. Meticulously precise balancing of rotating components of the system, taking into account the detailed guidelines of  turbocharger's manufacturer.
5. Precise assembly of all components
6. Adjustment of the variable geometry if a turbine is equipped with it.
7. Boost pressure adjustment.
8. Testing of the device in the same conditions as during normal operation with the engine.

Warranty

Warranty conditions:

TURBOBOSS company grants 1 year warranty for its turbines without a mileage limit!

However, the turbocharger purchased from us, under the pain of losing the guarantee, must be installed by a qualified machine shop, which in the case of complaint notification must be confirmed by appropriate documentation - the bill for the installation. The warranty is also voided by misuse such as admission to low oil pressure or lack thereof, its untimely replacement, untimely replacement of the air filter, etc.

Any defects caused by lack of lubrication or insufficient lubrication of turbocharger, as well as those caused by foreign body entering into turbine exclude the warranty liability of TURBOBOSS company!!!
